Nonprofit Partners

Gettysburg College is a highly selective national college of liberal arts and sciences. It has witnessed pivotal moments in American history since its founding in 1832. In close proximity to major urban centers in the Northeast, the college prepares students to do great work as leaders and active citizens in their professions, communities, nation, and world.

The Adams County Historical Society is one of Gettysburg’s most enduring and respected institutions. Tasked with the preservation of millions of historical records and artifacts that tell the story of a world-famous community, ACHS has recently finalized the construction and unveiling of a new history center located on the edge of the Gettysburg battlefield. This facility houses the Historical Society’s nationally acclaimed Beyond the Battle Museum.

Gettysburg Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit philanthropic, educational organization operating in partnership with the National Park Service to preserve Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site and educate the public about their significance. The Foundation operates the Museum & Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military Park, as well as the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital, the Children of Gettysburg 1863® and Ticket to the Past–Unforgettable Journeys.

The American Battlefield Trust is dedicated to preserving America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educating the public about what happened there and why it matters today. The non-profit, nonpartisan organization has protected more than 57,000 acres associated with the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and Civil War across 155 sites in 25 states.

The Better Angels Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating Americans about their history through documentary film. They are the pre-eminent organization supporting American history documentary filmmakers, advancing the use of their body of work to promote civic engagement and educate generations of students and lifelong learners.

Maryland Public Television (MPT) is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

WITF is a trusted, valued supplier of programs and services that both satisfy and stimulate curiosity for residents in every community in the central Pennsylvania region. WITF broadcast services reach audiences in more than 17 counties in central Pennsylvania.

Vlogging Through History is devoted to bringing history to life in an accessible and enjoyable way, Chris Mowery launched his YouTube channel, Vlogging Through History, in 2020. With nearly 400,000 subscribers, the channel has rapidly gained popularity for its engaging exploration of historical events and eras.

J.D. Huitt, the creative force behind The History Underground, is on a mission to unearth some of the interesting people and stories from history and equip people with the resources to share that history with others. With over half a million YouTube subscribers, The History Underground covers a variety of historical topics ranging from the Civil War to World War II.

Destination Gettysburg is the official destination marketing organization for Gettysburg and Adams County, Pennsylvania.
